Editorial Policy
This policy describes how VirusGuardHub content is researched, written, checked, updated and corrected. It applies to every page on the site, commercial or not.
Last reviewed 2026-08-09
Accuracy and sourcing
Factual claims about a product's features, platform support, pricing model or system requirements come from the developer's own published material or from the product itself. Detection and performance claims come from published independent laboratory testing, not from vendor marketing.
Where a fact varies by region, campaign or plan tier — pricing above all — we describe the structure rather than quoting a number that will be wrong within weeks.
- Vendor documentation and official product pages for feature claims
- Independent testing laboratories for detection and performance context
- Hands-on installation and removal for step-by-step instructions
- No claim carried over from another publisher without verification
Independence from commercial relationships
Editorial decisions are made before, and separately from, any commercial arrangement. A partner relationship never buys a recommendation, a higher position, softer criticism, or removal of a competitor.
Free products and products with no partner program are eligible for every recommendation on this site. If our advice is that the built-in Windows protection is enough for a given reader, we say that.
Advertising and sponsored content
We do not publish paid guest posts, sponsored reviews written by vendors, or content whose conclusions were agreed in advance with a developer. If commercially supplied material ever appears on this site, it will be clearly labelled as such and kept out of editorial rankings.
Updates and review cadence
Product profiles, comparisons and offer pages are re-checked on a rolling schedule, and after any material change announced by a developer. Guides are re-checked when the underlying operating system behaviour changes — a new Windows release, a redesigned Security app, a changed removal procedure.
Every page shows when it was last reviewed. We do not refresh a date without re-checking the content.
Corrections
If a page contains an error, we fix it and, where the error was material, note the change on the page. Readers and developers can report inaccuracies through our contact page; we ask for the specific page URL and the claim in question.
Use of AI tools
Automated tools may assist with research collation, drafting and formatting. No page is published without human review for accuracy, and responsibility for every published claim sits with the editorial team, not with a tool.
Trust and transparency
All product names, logos and brands are property of their respective owners. Use of these names does not imply endorsement. Questions about anything on this page can be sent through our contact page.
