Who we are
About VirusGuardHub
VirusGuardHub is an independent publisher covering antivirus software, malware removal and everyday computer security for readers in the United States.
We are not a software developer, a reseller or a security vendor. We do not host installers. Every download we recommend points to the developer's own website.

What we do
We maintain three kinds of pages: product profiles that explain what a security product actually includes, comparisons that put two or more products side by side, and guides that walk through a specific task such as removing a trojan or hardening a new Windows PC.
Each product profile is built from the developer's published documentation, the product's own interface and feature list, and publicly available results from independent testing laboratories. Where a claim depends on a third-party source, we say so on the page.
- Product profiles for the major consumer antivirus suites
- Head-to-head and roundup comparisons
- Task-based removal and security guides
- Download guidance that always resolves to official developer pages
Who writes and reviews the content
Content is produced and maintained by the VirusGuardHub editorial team: writers with hands-on experience installing, configuring and removing consumer security software on Windows, macOS, Android and ChromeOS, working to the standards described in our editorial policy.
Pages carry a published date and a last-updated date. Security software changes quickly, so a page that has not been re-checked recently should be read with that date in mind.
How we are funded
Some links on this site are partner links. If you buy a subscription after following one, we may receive a commission from the developer at no additional cost to you.
Commission never determines whether a product is recommended, how it is scored, or the order in which products appear. Products with no partner program — Microsoft Defender being the clearest example — are recommended on exactly the same terms as products that pay. Full details are in our disclosure.
What we are not
We are not affiliated with Norton, Bitdefender, McAfee, Malwarebytes, Avast, AVG, ESET, Kaspersky, Microsoft or any other developer named on this site. Product names, logos and brands belong to their respective owners.
Nothing on this site is legal advice, and no security product removes all risk. If a device holds business or regulated data and you believe it has been compromised, involve a qualified incident-response professional.
Frequently asked questions
- Does VirusGuardHub host antivirus installers?
- No. We never host, mirror or repackage installers. Every download button on this site links to the software developer's own domain.
- Can a developer pay for a better review?
- No. Placement, scoring and recommendations are not for sale, and we do not accept payment to remove criticism.
